Changes – Out with the Old, In with the New

It has been an incredible roller-coaster ride after my last post. I thought for sure I was done. Done with writing and blogging. Done with ambition. Done.

For those tuning in now, let me bring you up to speed, my last post was written on July 8th, 2016.  Let that sink in – Two Thousand and Sixteen. Holy Goodness time flies. It was then that my family was embarking on what turned out to be a very long, hard, and continuous struggle supporting my mom who is battling cancer. Those first few months watching her undergo surgery, therapy, radiation, and chemo almost broke me.

In the last year and a half, I watched my mom remain strong, funny, and caring. From her, I learned that life is short and we need to make the most of it; so I stood up, dusted myself off and decided to make a change in my life.

And thus, I made many changes. I left my dead-end job to start working on my career. My husband and I decided to start a family and now we have our little boy, Dino. I decided to officially close down my business and signed the papers of dissolution. Perhaps, in the future, I will again venture into the startup world but for now, I decided to let it go. I’m putting myself out there to learn new skills and meet new folks.

We all need a fresh start, a new beginning. And this is mine. My world turned upside down back in 2016 and I see my little man change my mom’s world now. She smiles when she sees him and he laughs when he’s near her. Although we may never see her cured, we can at the very least still bring her joy.

Here I am, writing again with a new focus and a new start.

with love,
