I thought I knew who I was, and then life happened….
A lot has happened since 2015, when I first tried to start up this blog. Here’s the short version: I graduated college, got engaged, then married, left a shitty job, joined an amazing job, became a US resident, lost my mom, quit my job, lost my [husband’s] grandma, became a homeowner, and spent a month in Ecuador.
OH, and to top it off with a wonderful cherry on top: I also became a mom!
That’s me in a nutshell. You’re all caught up!
Now, let’s back up a little bit…
Hi! The name is Nataly!
(yes, with a -y)
I started blogging back when Xanga was a thing in the late 2000s. I was called “LaBellaCreativa” writing short stories and poetry (and not very good ones, I might add). It was my way to escape reality and I lived in it—well, as much as any one can possibly “live” online.
I haven’t ventured far from the realm of writing, but I did stop for many years after Xanga closed its doors. Why? Well, I fell into depression. And a very deep dark one (which will be touched upon on this blog).
At every turn, life seemed to hit me with one thing after another after another.
And I’m still recovering.
Even now, after all the crazy, my path continuously leads me back to writing and tinkering with code (thanks Xanga for teaching me HTML, I’m learning CSS now). So here I am. Back in the world of blogging.
This time, I’m keeping it real.
So what can you expect to find in this corner of the web? Me! An almost 30-year-old mom, wife, sister, daughter. (AHEM, a visionary!)
I’ll be writing
stories reflections on life, on what I’ve learned from being a mom, the struggles of balancing work and mommying, and other topics that I haven’t thought of yet.
This is my way of getting back to me. You are welcome to tag along with me on this journey of self-discovery, fear, grief, happiness, and a myriad of other emotions.
I’m going to be the person I needed during my darkest moments.
